Removal and installation of power shafts

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a rim cap. If a stupichny nut зачеканена, unbend a lock uvula by means of a center punch or a chisel.

On some models the cap of a disk fastens wheel nuts. In that case nuts should be weakened, then to raise the car over the earth, to remove a cap, to screw nuts into place, to lower the car on the earth and after it to start an otdavaniye of a stupichny nut.

2. Weaken a stupichny nut by means of a face natural the equipped long collar a drive.

3. Weaken nuts of fastening of the corresponding forward wheel, поддомкратьте the car and establish it on props. Remove a wheel. Merge transmission oil/ATF (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance).
4. Disconnect a damper fork from amortizatorny assembly and the bottom control lever of a suspension bracket (see. Head Suspension bracket and steering).
5. Liberate the bottom control lever of a suspension bracket from a rotary fist (see. Head Suspension bracket and steering). Now finally give a stupichny nut.

6. Reject stupichny assembly outside, liberating from it a pin of a power shaft.

If the power shaft "soured" and does not give in to extraction from a nave, knock on its end face with a hammer with soft the brisk. Tie up the external end of a power shaft a wire to any of suspension bracket elements, having eliminated with that unnecessary loads of assembly of the internal CV JOINT.

7. Having accurately hooked the lever, liberate the internal end of a power shaft from the main transfer of transmission, or from assembly of an intermediate shaft. As the lever mount which should be entered into a gap between a casing of the internal CV JOINT and a case a transmission/support of the bearing of an intermediate shaft perfectly will approach. Holding for CV JOINTS, accurately take assembly of a power shaft from under the car. In order to avoid damage of an epiploon of an intermediate shaft/differential try to hold the internal CV JOINT in horizontal situation until the pin of a shaft will not be liberated from a landing nest finally.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove from the internal end of a power shaft a spring lock ring and replace it new. Grease sponges of an epiploon of an intermediate shaft/differential with universal greasing, then accurately get a power shaft in regular situation, holding it for CV JOINTS.

2. Carefully fill the pin of the internal CV JOINT equipped with shlitsa in a landing nest in a transmission case, or an intermediate shaft. Make sure that the lock ring was reliably latched in a landing flute.
3. Slightly grease with universal greasing of a shlitsa of a pin of the external CV JOINT, delay outside stupichny assembly and accurately fill in it the shaft end.
4. Fill a hairpin of a spherical support of the bottom control lever of a suspension bracket in a rotary fist and tighten a nut with demanded effort (see. Specifications to Head the Suspension bracket and a steering). Do not forget to replace шплинт. Establish into place a dempferny fork (see. Head Suspension bracket and steering).
5. Screw a stupichny nut (in case of need do not forget to replace a lock washer) and strongly tighten it.

The final tightening of a stupichny nut with demanded effort is made after car lowering on the earth.

6. Grasp the case of the internal CV JOINT (not for a shaft) and pull it outside, checking reliability of fixing of a pin in transmission/assembly of an intermediate shaft.
7. Establish into place a wheel, fix it nuts and lower the car on the earth.
8. Tighten with demanded effort wheel (see. Specifications to Head of Control and routine maintenance) and stupichny nuts. By means of a center punch зачеканьте a stupichny nut. Establish into place a rim cap.
9. Fill in in transmission necessary amount of oil/ATF of a demanded grade (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance).
