Check of a condition and battery replacement

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect both wires from the battery.

The negative wire always should be disconnected first of all and be connected in the last. If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for equipment introduction in action!

2. Check electrolit level in the battery (concerns only the needing batteries equipped with demountable covers service) - the electrolit should hide completely ламели, otherwise in banks the corresponding amount of the distilled water follows. DO NOT POUR, - surplus of electrolit at an excessive charging of the battery will start to be poured through edges of mouths! By means of the areometer (ask in shops of automobile accessories) measure specific weight of electrolit. Remove covers from jellied mouths and take away the areometer electrolit test serially from each of a battery banok. Following instructions of manufacturers, on the provision of a measuring float of the device define specific weight of electrolit. At normal level of a charge specific weight of electrolit should make 1.270 units (a green zone of a measuring scale). At excessively low density of electrolit (a red zone of a scale) the battery should be charged (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance). Batteries not needing service are usually equipped with the special color indicator. When the spot in an observation port of the indicator gains black color, it is necessary to make a battery charging immediately. Having finished with check of density of electrolit, it is necessary to make measurement of target tension of the battery by means of the digital voltmeter.

Before voltmeter connection it is necessary to remove a superficial charge from the battery, - approximately for 10 seconds include a driving beam, then disconnect everything onboard consumers of the electric power and wait about two minutes. At the switched-off engine and the disconnected consumers of the electric power connect black щуп the voltmeter to the negative plug of the battery. Red щуп connect to the positive plug. Target tension of the battery should make 11.5 ÷ 12.5 In or is slightly higher.

The nominal rate of density of electrolit is defined depending on ambient temperature (and it is directly proportional to it), - use the map of temperatures delivered by manufacturers in a set to the battery.

At positive results described above checks need for battery testing under loading (see below) disappears.

3. More exact check of a condition of the battery can be made by means of a universal measuring instrument (ask in shops of automobile accessories). 2. Release fixture and remove a clamping level of fastening of the battery on the pallet.

3. Remove the battery from the pallet.

Special brackets with handles are issued. Use of such brackets essentially simplifies procedure of extraction of the battery from an impellent compartment.

4. Attentively examine the pallet on existence of traces of corrosion.
5. In case of need give fixture and take the pallet from an impellent compartment for the purpose of removal of products of corrosion from it and carrying out the corresponding protective processing of metal (use first coats on a zinc basis).
6. At replacement track, that the replaceable battery corresponded on the performance data to requirements of your car.
7. Installation is made upside-down.
