Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (VMT)

The description of procedure provided below is made on the basis of the assumption of correctness of connection of VV of candle wires and installation of the distributor of ignition. If there is a need of reduction of the engine for VMT for the purpose of correction of position of the distributor, position of the piston in the first cylinder of the engine can be qualitatively defined by a way of tracking of change of kompressionny pressure through a candle opening. Further it is necessary to achieve combination of the corresponding adjusting labels.

The highest point of a piston stroke in the cylinder is called as the top dead point (VMT). Strictly speaking, in 4-тактных engines in the course of rotation of a cranked shaft this situation is reached by each of pistons twice: once at the end of a step of compression and the second - at the end of a final step. At performance of settings of phases of a gazoraspredeleniye and installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition in overwhelming majority of cases the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston (usually the first cylinder) is used.

Need for piston reduction (it) in situation VMT arises at carrying out many procedures, in particular such, as removal/installation of a camshaft, components of a drive of GRM and the ignition distributor.

Make sure that transmission is transferred to neutral situation, then strongly cock the parking brake, or prop up back wheels of the car protivootkatny boots. Also immobilize ignition system, having disconnected VV a coil wire from a cover of the distributor and having earthed it on the engine block a wire crossing point. Turn out spark plugs (see. Reduction of any of pistons in situation VMT is made by a provorachivaniye of a cranked shaft of the engine by one of described below ways. If to take a detached view of the engine in front of (a driving belt), the direction clockwise will be the normal direction of rotation of a cranked shaft:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remember position of the plug of connection of a candle wire of the first cylinder on a distributor cover.

2. If the plug is not marked, walk on a wire from a candle to a cover and put the corresponding label independently (use a chertilka or a marker).

3. Uncover the distributor and put it aside (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance).

4. Turn a cranked shaft clockwise so that the white label of VMT on its pulley was combined with the triangular index on a cover of a gas-distributing belt.

On a pulley there are two adjusting labels. The second label is put with red paint and serves only for installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition by means of a stroboscope.

5. Now check situation a distributor begunka, - it should appear the developed nouse precisely on a label on a case rim. If the begunok is developed concerning a label on 180 °, therefore, the piston of the first cylinder is in the provision VMT of the end of a final step. To bring the piston into VMT of the end of a step of compression, it is necessary to turn a cranked shaft on one complete revolution (360 °) counter-clockwise. Now the begunok should be developed by a nouse to a label.

6. Weaken the screw and put a viewing cover aside, having provided with that access to adjusting labels on cogwheels of camshafts of both ranks of cylinders. Through an opening of a cover of a gas-distributing belt make sure that the adjusting label on a cogwheel of a camshaft is combined with a reciprocal label on a back cover.

7. When all labels (on a pulley of a cranked shaft and a camshaft cogwheel) will appear are combined, it is possible to consider the piston of the first cylinder given to the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression.
8. Now, that serially, as ignition to bring into VMT the remained pistons, the cranked shaft should be turned clockwise with a step in 120 °, passing from the cylinder to the cylinder as ignition. Put the corresponding labels on a rim of the case of the distributor (as it did higher for the plug of connection of the first candle wire).
