1. Uncover heads of cylinders (see. Section Removal and installation of covers of heads of cylinders). 2. Bring the piston of the first cylinder into situation VMT (see. The section Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (VMT)). 3. Remove the ignition distributor (see. Head engine Electric equipment). 4. Remove a gas-distributing belt and a belt of a drive of balancing shaft (see. Sections Removal, check of a condition and installation of assembly of yokes and Removal, check of a condition and installation of camshafts). 5. In case of need turn out a bolt of fastening of a cogwheel of a camshaft for the purpose of removal it from a pin.

For the purpose of shaft blocking from a provorachivaniye pass a screw-driver through one of openings in a cogwheel. |
6. Remove assembly of yokes (see. Section Removal and installation of final collectors). If covers of bearings of a camshaft are subject to removal from assembly, they are necessary for marking as installation (put down labels asymmetrically for a guarantee of correctness of an arrangement of covers at installation).

7. Check axial люфта is made as follows:
a) Establish a camshaft in the engine and fix it covers of bearings (to assembly of yokes it is removed); b) Fix a tsiferblatny measuring instrument on a head of cylinders, having rested it a plunzher against a shaft end face; c) Having used as the lever a big screw-driver, take away a shaft against the stop back and null a measuring instrument, then push a shaft forward and consider instrument reading; d) Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications; e) The excessive size axial люфта speaks about wear of a camshaft, or a head of cylinders. |

8. Remove a camshaft, dry wipe it pure rags or a paper towel and transfer on a workbench. |
9. For check of lateral palpation (performance of this check it will be more correct to charge to specialists of car-care center):
a) Lay the camshaft removed from the engine in two V-shaped prisms, then press a plunzher of a tsiferblatny measuring instrument to a neck of the central bearing and measure palpation size at shaft rotation; b) Compare results of measurement to requirements of Specifications; c) At excessive palpation the camshaft is subject to replacement. 10. Check bearing gangs of a camshaft and internal surfaces of covers of bearings on existence of scratches and задиров. In case of detection of serious defects the head of cylinders is subject to replacement on new or restored. By means of the calibrated plastic wire (Plastigage set) measure size of working gaps in each of bearings. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications. If the gap of any of bearings falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace a camshaft and / илиголовку cylinders.

11. Estimate degree of wear of cams of a camshaft:
a) Attentively examine forming surfaces of working ledges of all cams, checking them on existence of scratches, задиров, cavities and signs of non-uniform wear; b) In case of detection of defect though one of cams replace a camshaft. Do not forget about need of identification of causes of wear, - check impellent oil on presence of particles of an abrasive at it. Check a condition of the oil pump and passableness of all маслотоков (wear of liftings of cams appears more often it is connected with pollution of oil or violation of its giving); c) By means of a micrometer measure height of cams. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace a camshaft. |
12. Check working surfaces of yokes of a drive of valves on existence of signs of wear, attritions, cavities and other defects. 13. In case of identification of any of listed above defects it is necessary to check a condition of impellent oil and serviceability of its giving in a head of cylinders. Having only revealed and having eliminated a cause of infringement, start installation of replaceable components (a head, a camshaft or assembly of yokes). |
